Amazing service and drinks! Just stopped by for a few spritz and ceviche! Exited to come back.

This place has been on my list because of the octopus so of course we ordered it! It looks like there was 2 on the plate and humongous portion. It was really good, with the rosemary flavored red rice and potatoes and tortillas. The deboned branzino was also healthy and tasty, we had that with a side of red rice. The mushroom taco was soggy, so I wound not order that again. The red snapper tostada was a little bland. But overall the food we came there for was great, just wished we got more salsa. Service was great, they were very attentive. Make sure you make reservations as this is a small place.

First I love how the place is decorated! We actually recently visited the one in Mexicali which is just as great. We were craving seafood and a nice cold one. It was so nice we got a warm shrimp consomé before. We tried a few of the tostadas , very fresh and loved the side salsas. We enjoyed our beer as well. Staff was very attentive, which is great. I would visit again.

This is the first non-Mexican outpost of a restaurant group known for their seafood... ...which is excellent! The Red Snapper Tostada is what they're known for, and for good reason. The Ahi Tuna Tostada is very well known, also for good reason. The Fish Ceviche is excellent too, but I wouldn't get both this and the Red Snapper... I'd just get the Red Snapper. Arabe Shrimp Tacos were outstanding. Rib Eye Tacos Tijuana were very good - unique at least in SD, with peanut sauce. Grilled Cauliflower was excellent. Oh, and the service was phenomenal. Cinco estrellas.

The food is just really good. Not much else to say on this one! It's literally just amazing street food served by the nicest people in the coziest nook of a restaurant in La Jolla, and I can't recommend it more. I had La Corriente Burrito, which has shrimp, and DH had fish and short rib tacos, which were all really tasty. He says the short rib was "out of this world". They start you with a little tomato-based soup (consomme) in a shotglass-sized mug, provide cripsy tortillas and a little salsa spread with lime, and we added guac. Yum. My only gripe is that they don't take reservations, which can be a problem if you're trying to fit in dinner around a show. But they were busy so it's obviously not a problem for them! Would definitely go back and try something else.

The ceviche platter is huge. You could share it with four people. The fish taco was great. It's a bit pricier, but it's cool having this option. I'm glad they opened one here, I like their location in Tj better though.

Despite being newly opened, La Corriente Cevicheria is still finding its footing. The waitstaff seemed a bit disoriented and lacked knowledge about the menu, but they were friendly and doing their best to keep things together. Although the small location doesn't offer dedicated parking, there were enough tables available when we arrived. Now, onto the food--absolutely fantastic! We tried the red snapper, fish ceviche, ahi tuna tostadas, and let's not forget the whole octopus, which stole the show! Seriously, it was out of this world. So, while they're still ironing out the kinks, La Corriente's culinary offerings make it a must-visit spot.

I have been eyeing the progress of this location for months and so glad it finally opened! First tried this place in Tijuana years ago before the pandemic and this location delivered and it was even better than I remembered. So fresh. Octopus was fire and the shrimp "Arabe" tacos were a heavier, cheesier treat. I will be back over and over again. Service was super friendly and seating will probably get crowded on weekends. Parking is not dedicated but street parking is worth it for this gem. The decor is adorable and trendy.

Exacellent, just like in Tijuana, I've been there a bunch of times and loved it every one of them, so when i saw they opened in La Jolla i was very excited... It's a bit small but then cozy. The red snapper tostadas are incredible and the Arab tacos delicious, can't wait to go back to try the rest.
